Georgia Surprise Billing & Good Faith Estimate Notice
Pursuant to the Georgia Surprise Billing Consumer Protection Act and the Federal No Surprises Act, you are protected from “balance billing” (surprise medical bills) for emergency services and certain non-emergency services provided by out-of-network providers at in-network facilities. For these services, you should only be responsible for your in-network cost-sharing amounts.
Additionally, if you are uninsured or planning to pay for services yourself (self-pay), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services before they are rendered. This estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created.
